Won’t bore you with all the details but I’m in a bureaucratic nightmare right now involving an old mobile phone account connected to my ex (because I used the account at the time to purchase a phone for him when we ran a business together over two decades ago), whose unpaid bill sometime last year, resulted in a debt collection company sending me letters and emails and subsequently started affecting my credit rating.
It’s been one “computer says no” situation after another but none have been quite as infuriating as the one I’m currently in, where somehow after a second transfer of ownership an outstanding amount of £10.02 has been trapped on my side of the split of our accounts. Incredibly, because I don’t have an active account anymore, the system won’t allow me to pay it
Until it’s paid the Data Rights Team will not complete my GDPR request to have my details completely wiped from their database, which I want them to do so this kind of thing doesn’t happen again.
I have to keep physically going in to the nearest O2 shop to try to sort out each stage of this, as well as spend hours on the phone to customer support.
Without sounding dramatic, I find it fascinating that a man I’ve not been with personally or professionally for over twelve years, is still having an effect on my life. It’s not exactly his fault but his failure to pay his bill has had a sequence of negative consequences and is still yet to be resolved almost a year later!
Cooking Course
Jumped on the live call with the hosting platform to ask if I should add more videos to the course before I release ads and had a very definitive yes. And from a guy who’s built a funnel and ads for another vegan cooking course before, so I’ll happily go with what he suggests. I’ve dropped working on ads and been busy editing more videos since.
Have one month until the Vegan Camp Out festival and would really like to have at least modules 1-3 uploaded by then.
Bus Conversion
Ceiling struts are all rust proofed and painted.
Had another look at the front door situation because it makes sense to use the original door as it’s shaped correctly to the curved shape of the bus. However, it’s very heavy and full of unnecessary innards that were to do with the previous pneumatic compressed air system. I don’t want that kind of door so I ripped all that out and will try to hang it on hinges instead.
The other week when my bro Jae was supposed to come for a day was cancelled but has been re-booked.
The Grapple Travel Show
Still working on the Surrounding Area section. Will try to continue putting a few hours in each week, even though the course videos are more important and pressing at the moment.
Jiu Jitsu
Covered another class this week and tried out yet another training format. I gave each student the chance to work on whatever they wanted from standing, then passing and then pinning. For each part of the game they had three 3 minute rounds with different partners before the other person had their three rounds.
It worked out ok but I think I’ll be going back to a more King of the Hill type variation next week, I think it works better in general.
Everyone knew I was experimenting and they rose to the challenge and said they enjoyed it but I could tell it wasn’t quite as effective.
Though one girl did say that because of the class she had finally understood the four stages of the game; standing to ground, passing the guard, pinning to isolate head or limb, controlling for a submission. So that was good to hear.
Cheffing
So far I’ve only been working on the cold side at Avonfield but taking on the hot side has now been discussed, so I guess that‘ll be the next step. Hot side will be more challenging but I know I’ll have plenty of support at first, so I’m up for it.
Next Week…
Loads of video editing, covering three Jiu Jitsu classes and will train in Bristol one evening too and hopefully one full day on the bus with Jae where I hope to fit the remaining two windows.
Hope you had a wonderful week and that your upcoming week is just as dandy!
